Homeowners and grounds companies have an increasing interest in very low maintenance turfgrasses, as well as creating areas that require no mowing.

The No-Mow Turfgrass Display is a research project to observe the long term effect of 3 turfgrass populations allowed to remain in a no-mow situation. These plots are generally neither irrigated nor fertilized. Weed encroachment over the years will also be noted.

Plants Used

  • Kentucky bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, fine fescue (smooth bromegrass, invader)
  • Park Kentucky bluegrass
  • Fine fescues blend
