Let's Get Planting! Plant Sale
Saturday, May 9, 2009, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Don’t miss the Dakota County Master Gardener plant sale, Let’s Get Planting! on Saturday, May 9th, 2009 from 9 a.m. until 12 noon at the University of Minnesota Outreach, Research and Education Park (UMore), 1605 West 160th Street, in Rosemount.
This year’s sale will feature native grasses, time-tested favorites such as daylilies, hostas and coneflowers, herbs and unique varieties as well, grown primarily in the gardens of Dakota County Master Gardeners. Browse hundreds of plants that can be placed in native gardens, English cottage gardens, woodland gardens, rain gardens and more. Gardeners can also plan ahead by reviewing the list of plants for sale, at www.mggarden.umn.edu under Events & Classes. Check out the new Dakota County Master Gardener blog at http://blog.lib.umn.edu/mgweb/dakota/. Watch for a list of plants that will be available for sale on May 9th.
Planting and care instructions will accompany each purchase and Master Gardeners will be available to answer questions and provide garden advice. Purchases may be made with cash or check. Arrive early for the best selection, as plants sell out quickly and the sale will begin promptly. For even faster check out, consider bringing a cart or wagon.
The Dakota County Master Gardener Program is a community outreach program of the University of Minnesota Extension, with a mission to improve the quality of life and enhance the economy and the environment of the Dakota County community through education, applied research and the resources of the University of Minnesota.

Tuesday Evenings in the Garden
Most Tuesday evenings 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm, May to September
Learn something new this summer by attending one of the Dakota County Master Gardener Tuesday Evenings in the Garden classes. Learn about gardening while you are in the beautiful 6 acre Master Gardener Education and Research Display Garden at UMore Park in Rosemount. Classes are offered all season and are on a wide variety of gardening topics.
